Here's 5 simple ways to keep your home warm and cosy all winter long.
So often, we forget to prepare our homes for the chilly weather that winter deals us. But its not hard, and these small tips help keeps costs down and the cold out!
- Check all doors and windows, and make sure they're draught proof.
- Open up your blinds and curtains as soon as the sun is on the windows they cover - this will warm your house with as much free energy as possible. And close them again before sundown to trap the heat in. If you haven't already, do a check up on your heating - give your air-con filter a good clean, and /or have your gas heater serviced. Clean your chimney and fireplace, and make sure you have a good supply of timber. That way you'll be ready for all chilly days ahead!
- Select candles and diffusers with scents that are warm and comforting - vanilla, pine, cedar, caramel or spices are a great choice.
- Have plenty of throws and cushions on the couches for everyone to wrap up in to enjoy a good book and hot chocolate!
